Jefferson Beach Estates

News & Events

Thanks to those JBE members who voted in the election and to those who came to the Nov 15 meeting.

With over 50 ballots returned we met the quorum requirement, which means the 2026 budget is approved and both board candidates–John Heuerman and David Karstens–can begin serving in January.

The two board members departing at the end of this year are Karen Bertram and Everett Simila. Karen joined the board in 2020 and Everett stepped in earlier this year to serve through December. Thanks also to board members Karen Nordstrom and Teresa Scott for continuing to serve, to Shana Ramirez for continuing to manage the bookkeeping, and to Kyle Milliken for maintaining the grounds and facilities.

The Foghorn newsletter was mailed mid-October.

It’s too late to vote in the election, but if you didn’t get the newsletter and would like one, please email board@jeffersonbeach.org

The Facebook page used by some JBE members saw major changes in September. First, the name of the page is now Jefferson Beach Neighbors, better reflecting the fact that at least half the members of the group live outside JBE.

Another change to note is that the page now has rules to help keep the information relevant to the broader audience and prevent potentially hurtful posts and comments.

JBE members should not use the Facebook page to discuss issues such as the JBE bylaws, policies, board decisions, etc. Posts about these kinds of issues may be removed by the group admins.

Under the Members menu of this website, JBE members can register to join the Community Forum. It provides a secure place to discuss issues with other JBE members and the board of directors.

If you need instructions for how to get started, please email board@jeffersonbeach.org

Next Regular Meeting – December 10, 6:30 pm

The next regular meeting is set for Wednesday, Nov 10, at 6:30 pm, at the community center.

Meeting minutes can be found on the Meetings & Minutes page.

Can anyone help build a little free library for the park?

Board president, Karen Bertram, is looking for someone to help build a little free library. She has a plan and will donate the materials. If you can help with sawing and assembly, please email board@jeffersonbeach.org. Thanks!
